In this experience you will get to know Guapi, a small municipality in Cauca geographically privileged for being next to the river that bears its name and very close to the Pacific Ocean.
"Knowledge and flavors of the Sea and River" is a unique tourist experience in Guapi that combines the diversity of the arts and crafts of the Pacific in a cultural immersion and connection with nature.
Visitors participate in cooking workshops with traditional cooks and experts, where they can learn about the production process of viche, an ancestral healing drink, or learn how to prepare traditional dishes with fresh ingredients such as piangua, while enjoying a special dinner, the Guapireña night, promoting cultural exchange.
Outdoor activities include horseback riding along the river and a visit to the Gorgona National Natural Park, where you will explore how these ecosystems are fundamental to the sustainable fishing that enriches local gastronomy. ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Guapi, start of the experience with the Guapitour
Enjoy and feel the cultural roots of the Guapireño, learn the most important details of the territory and delight your palate with the most exquisite traditional dishes and drinks.
Tour starts at 12:30 pm
Activities:
11:00 am: check in at the hotel.
12:30 p.m.: Typical lunch where you will discover the secrets of traditional Pacific cuisine with our traditional experts. Includes an ancestral Pacific drink.
2:00 pm. Afro and indigenous crafts, we will also visit crafts made from coconut shells. You will have the opportunity to learn details about straw crafts (teapot), with which they make hats, bags, fans, placemats, among others. It is time to make your purchases.
3:00 pm. Tour of the main square, here you begin to connect with the history of Guapi, learn about customs, festivals, important aspects of the Guapireña population, their religiosity and spirituality. We will visit the market square, the main wall, La Pola Park, and Yo Amo a Guapi Park.
4:30 pm. VICHE experience, a healing drink.
7:30 pm. Guapireña dinner.
Day 2: GORGONA DAY TRIP, YUNDIGUA BEACH
Dive into Yundigua Beach and enjoy the fascinating spectacle of marine life while snorkeling.
6:30 am. Breakfast at the hotel.
7:00 am. Departure to Gorgona National Park.
9:00 am Registration and induction talk at PNN Gorgona.
Departure to Yundigua Beach. It is time to snorkel and discover the beauty of the marine fauna of the Park.
Tour of the old prison. From the village we begin this tour where you will witness how the jungle has been devouring the facilities of what remains of the old prison. Accompanied by a park guide you will learn details of what the prison was like.
Return to Guapi: 3:00pm
7:30 pm. Dinner.
Day 3: JOANICO – Sowing knowledge
Let yourself be carried away by the magic of medicinal, aromatic and spice plants grown on Azoteas, and immerse yourself in the flavours and smells of sweets or traditional Pacific dishes that you will learn to make with us in the community of Joanico. Venture out to enjoy the benefits that our river offers you by taking a pony ride combined with recreational swimming.

Visit to rooftops (Includes the adaptation and planting of rooftop plants. Singing. A trip on a colt along the river with our wise women who will share some anecdotes and stories with us; they will adorn the tour with their boga songs.
Traditional cooking workshop, with the help of our traditional cooks we will prepare a typical dish (sweet or based on seafood)
Lunch.
QUIROGA – The Spell of the Mangrove
Connect with mangroves where the roar of the sea meets the calm of the river. Immerse yourself in the world of fishing arts and, with the help of our piangüeras or fishermen, discover the artisanal fishing methods that our fishermen have been practicing for decades. You can venture out to sea to do some fishing or you can go into the mangroves to collect pianguas.
Departure to Bocana de Quiroga Playa Obregones where you will live one of these artisanal fishing experiences:
Clamshell harvesting: Collecting these shells on the beach. Our experts explain how this work is done, provide the necessary materials and on the beach we get ready to collect clams.
Pianguar: We enter the mangrove, our experts lead us and teach us about the art of pianguar, which is the collection of this mollusk in the mangrove.
Artisanal fishing: Led by Don Teodoro, we live the adventure of a fishing task at sea, (“we take a cast”: laying and collecting the nets), we see how fish, crab, shrimp, among others, are caught in the nets.
Return time: 5:00 pm
The proposed itinerary on day 2 may vary depending on tidal conditions, which determine whether we start activities in Joanico or in Quiroga.
7:30 pm. Dinner and Guapireña night, the songs, flavors and knowledge of the Pacific at its best.
Day 4.
Possibility of purchasing handicrafts.
Return to the airport.
